The Burn Weekend was most certainly not your “usual lock in” as Pastor Christopher put it. Armed with a spirit of intercession, a yearning for mercy, empty bellies and bottles of water, these young people burned before the Lord in prayer and worship.
The air was thick with the presence of the Lord on Friday night as these students
wept for the nations as they received the heart of God for this world. Just days before the start of Burn Weekend Cinno (first year student from Burma/Myanmar) received news that in his country the military government passed a law to make it illegal to hold worship services. We all interceded for his home church and Cinno was amazed at these young people weeping for mercy for the government of Burma. The weekend continued with fervent prayer and worship, testimonies are still flooding in of confirmation, revelation, and salvation. Saturday we split up to go pray for the courthouse, city hall, the jail, and other strategic locations around Watertown. The night concluded with a declaration (the alliance of the heartbeat of this generation to it’s King) from Luke Peniston who read The Vision by Pete Greig. ~emily peniston
