Dibor is a discipleship school composed of a 6-month Lecture Phase and a 2-month Leadership Training Phase. Students are mentored in what it means to have a true Kingdom identity, a divine perspective of the world around them, and are challenged to influence culture the same way Jesus did. Year 1 Graduates may elect to return for Lion Vrie, our 2nd year staff-internship program, where greater emphasis is put on servant leadership and corporate responsibility.
LECTURE PHASE:
September 3, 2010 – November 22, 2010 / January 2, 2011 – March 31, 2011
Monday – Friday / 6am to 1pm
Every week during the Lecture Phase, students receive world-class instruction and impartation from one staff or guest teacher on a particular theme.
*Students are free after 1pm during the lecture phase to pursue additional education at our local community college, through an online college, or obtain a part-time job to earn money. We strongly encourage all students to use this time constructively.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING PHASE:
April 1, 2011 – May 27, 2011
Monday – Friday / 6am to 1pm / Scheduled overnights and weekends
During this 2-month intensive session, students participate and take active leadership roles in numerous missions projects around northern NY and the greater northeast US, including participation in a weekly street ministry, housing development service projects, weekly Cluster (small group), church service projects, and participation in the prestigious L10 Project.
CHURCH LIFE:
Throughout your time at Dibor, you will also be connected with New Life Christian Church as an integral part of 33 Live (teen & college ministry), and enrolled in Lifetraining – 33 Live’s discipleship and teaching track (includes Seeds, Wildfire, Roots, and Cluster Leader Training).
PHYSICAL TRAINING (PT):
Because the Bible instructs us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, we have a corresponding belief that we must maintain our physical health through exercise. All Dibor students are required to participate in one hour of PT three mornings a week, tailored to each individual’s ability.
AFTER DIBOR?:
Graduates have gone on to serve all over the world, either returning to their home countries (Burma, Costa Rica, Germany, The Philippines), some serving in China for a year with Campus Target (one of our linked ministries), or staying right here at New Life as a staff member. It’s our heart to help advise and launch you into where God is calling you.
